A dog-friendly lakeside lodge for slow mornings, long walks and time together
Sleeps 8 | Accessible | South Cerney, Cotswold Water Park
Set beside the still waters of Summer Lake, this four-bedroom lodge offers space, ease and a gentle sense of retreat. Located on the private Summer Lake estate within the Cotswold Water Park, just outside Cirencester, it’s a place designed for unhurried stays.
The layout is generous and considered, with all bedrooms on the ground floor, step-free access and lift access to the living space above (available on request). Interiors are modern but unfussy, with lake views that quietly shape the pace of your stay.
Guests consistently rate the lodge 5/5, often mentioning how comfortable, practical and easy it feels to settle in.
All four bedrooms are located on the ground floor.
Beds are fixed and cannot be split into singles.
Upstairs, the open-plan living and dining space feels light and relaxed. Comfortable sofas invite long evenings in, while the dining table seats eight comfortably for shared meals. Large bi-fold doors open onto the balcony, where the lake becomes a constant backdrop — ideal for morning coffee, a quiet read, or a glass of something as the sun sets.
The kitchen is fully equipped for both everyday cooking and longer stays, including:
The private balcony sits directly above the water, offering uninterrupted lake views. While swimming and fishing are not permitted on Summer Lake itself, guests are welcome to canoe or paddleboard (please bring your own equipment). Additional lakes within the Water Park offer open-water swimming, fishing and watersports.
Summer Lake Lodge has been carefully designed with accessibility in mind:
The lift is activated only when needed, so please let us know in advance if you would like it prepared for your stay.
One well-behaved dog is very welcome. We provide bowls, waste bags, a spare lead and a toy — you’ll just need to bring towels. Scenic walks begin directly from the lodge, and several dog-friendly pubs are close by, including The Old Boathouse and The Eliot Arms.
